A looooong story anyway. Okay, a book.
I started writing and I couldn’t stop!
It’s a semi-autobiographical novel. The truth comes with the way I used to fantasize about being some rockstar’s muse. The rest of the story? The way I’ve would have been if the fantasies had truly materialized.
I had no plan. I just got the urge, started writing and, the ideas kept coming. I don’t even know if I could do it again if I tried!
I have ideas for a sequel…we’ll see what happens…
If you want to check it out, here’s the link: Jailbreak: A Rock and Roll Fantasy Realized https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078P54P2F/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_maSxAbSP0CSPH
I’ve been getting sales! It’s slow but it’s happening. I get such satisfaction out of creating that just the thought that someone would pay money to have one is humbling and exciting!
I recently started metal stamping and a friend has requested quite a few for Christmas presents. Bless her. So far, the people she has gifted with them, love them. I’m not sure how I’m going to market them as custom (15 letter limit? Specific sayings?…) but, I’ll figure it out and I’ll get it done. Either way, it’s fun and I’m going to keep practicing and doing.
So, anyone that knows me knows that the title is my mantra. I’m a passivist and the music helps me keep my sanity in this not so passivist world around me.
Tomorrow, I’m going to see Cheap Trick. One of my favorite bands from my high school years. I still listen to them regularly. For the week after, I will feel whole and happy.
The next one will be Blue Öyster Cult in January. The holidays will take over and by the time January 20th, 2018 rolls around, I will really need my fix.
Then, on March 18th, I will go see Black Star Riders. They are opening for Judas Priest but, they are one of the best bands I have heard in a long time. All original music from the ashes of the band that was touring as Thin Lizzy up until a few years ago. Scott Gorham being the link. But, every guy in the band is an incredible musician with glowing resumés of their own.
And these are only the ones I actually have tickets for.
For years, I have been close to unable to function with a daily dose of music.
The live shows take me to another dimension. There is nothing better than hanging out with thousands of like-minded people groovin’ and singing along.
I hope everyone has the chance to do whatever gives them their outlet this weekend. I truly do…
Peace and Love to all!

Music has a connection to everything I do. I grew up in a very creatively motivated home. My parents painted, sang, and played instruments. There was usually music on somewhere in the house. I recall playing The Talking Heads on my stereo while my older brother below me played Nat King Cole and my younger brother next to him played Rush. My mother would have opera or classical playing on her stereo in the living room…only if there wasn’t a string quartet in our large living room or one of us kids practicing piano, flute, drums or guitar. None of us children became virtuosos but, we all became very dependent on music. All of us had music on more than the TV back in the ‘70’s and ‘80’s…long before video games and cellphones.
I feel lost without music in the background. Some of my best ideas come when I’m concentrating on the music or after I see a live show. The key for me is live shows. I’m energized and in a great mood for days after a concert. I like to go to concerts the way some people go to movies. It’s an escape for me.
So, it makes perfect sense that my Beads and Maille creations are increasingly becoming influenced by music.
That will be my new mission. Vegan leather, guitar pick and musical note pendants and charms, more red and black, more black with brighter colors and more stainless steel.
